Formosa EV, Inc. (“Formosa EV,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) designs and sells electric-vehicle components and offers technical content at https://www.formosaev.com (“Site”).  

We are headquartered in California, U.S.A., with engineering operations in Taiwan.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and secure personal information when you • visit the Site;
• buy products or services;
• request a quote;
• join our wait-list or newsletter;
• communicate with us by email, SMS, or social media; or
• attend a Formosa EV event.  
It also lists the choices and legal rights available to you.

a. Account & Contact Data – name, company, postal address, email, phone/SMS number
Purpose :To register your account, process orders, ship products, send invoices, and supply support

b. Order & Payment Data – billing address, last 4 digits of card*, purchase history

Purpose :To complete transactions, handle returns, and detect fraud

We share data only with service providers that help us run Formosa EV, subject to strict contracts:
1. Payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal)\
2. Shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL)
3. Cloud hosting and analytics (Amazon AWS, Google Analytics)
4. Email & SMS platforms (Klaviyo, Twilio)
5. ERP and logistics partners in Taiwan for order fulfilment.
They may access personal data solely to perform services on our behalf and must keep it confidential.  We do not sell or rent your information.

7.  Legal Bases (EEA/UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we process your data under these Article 6 GDPR bases: Contract (order fulfilment), Consent (marketing), Legitimate Interest (Site security, analytics), and Legal Obligation (tax records).

We use TLS-encrypted connections, ISO-27001 cloud hosting, least-privilege access controls, and regular penetration tests.  However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100 % secure.

10.  Data Retention

We keep order-related data for the statutory 7-year accounting period (or longer where required by tax, warranty, or recall laws).  Marketing consents are retained until you withdraw them.

11.  Children

The Site is not directed to children under 16.  We do not knowingly collect children’s personal data.  If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us for deletion.

12.  International Transfers

Because we operate in the U.S. and Taiwan, your information may be processed outside your country.  We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Our Site may link to third-party sites (e.g., YouTube videos, industry articles).  We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
